STEP Beyond Borders is a dynamic, experiential and study travel company working internationally with groups and individuals, offering safe travel packages whilst giving opportunity to volunteer and make social impact. With a love for meaningful experience and a motivated spirit to travel, STEP Beyond Borders was created with a belief that travelling abroad can become a life changing experience enriching cultural understanding, social change and sustainability.  TEACHING ENGLISH PROJECT Education has been a big concern for the Indian society during the recent years. With its overpopulation, Indian government lacks to provide quality education to children and lot of children are left out of education. There aren’t enough government schools and a lot of children have to wait for years till their turn comes to attend a school.  STEP Beyond Borders works to improve education access for children of underprivileged communities and supports various slum and rural schools with teaching. Volunteers interested to join teaching program are most welcome to bring a change int he social issues as education is the base of every solution.  Options of schools:

  • Rural schools within Jaipur
  • Slum schools
  • Missionary schools run on donations
  • Social schools or private schools serving poor population


Main tasks of volunteer teachers:

  • Do assessment of children’s English
  • Prepare lesson plans or follow the book lessons
  • Teach communication skills to children
  • Teach basic grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing
  • Come up with ideas of games, songs, dances to make the teaching interactive
  • Enjoy and have fun with super excited and joyful students


Program Details:

  • Program starts and ends in Jaipur City
  • Project length: 2 weeks (program can be extended at an additional cost)
  • Joining dates: July 1 – May 10. May and June are off for summer holidays
  • Arrival date: Saturday or Sunday are preferable, however if not possible then year-long any day of the week is fine for arrival
  • Arrival Airport: Jaipur International Airport
  • Working days: Monday to Friday
  • Typical working hours: 8.30am – 1pm
  • Total volunteer hours: 25-30 hours per week
  • Weekends: Free for sightseeing


REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer needs to have good command of English, teaching academic background is not obligatory. Age: 18 and above.
